SALARY:  $81,344 - $92,910, per the STAA Master Agreement, click here to view agreement.

Due to the incumbent’s retirement, we are seeking an Athletic Director/Assistant Principal. The first year there will be a heavy emphasis on the Athletic Director duties while transitioning into Assistant Principal duties.
  • Meet the state certification requirements to serve as a high school assistant principal.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate preferred.
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Preferred five (5) years of successful teaching experience (at least three (3) years in a secondary school preferred.)
  • Administrative experience preferred, ideally with both teacher evaluation and as an Athletic Director.
  • Registered Athletic Administrator or higher certification preferred.
  • Experience in coaching, preferably with both genders at the varsity level.
  • Exceptional communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and desire to work with students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of student assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of MTSS.
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Programme.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff in change process through collaboration and problem solving.
  • Proficient in the use of technology and knowledge of technology integration with curriculum.
  • Experience in leading organizational and instructional change to support success for all learners.
  • Knowledge of Michigan Core Content Standards.
  • Understanding of teacher evaluation; experience with the 5D+ Teacher Evaluation system desirable.
